The Springs of Creativity

چکیده
it is at once evident that the author endeavours to answer the ancient questions: "What is Art? What is Man?" To achieve this goal he pursues innumerable fields of study and first directs his efforts to the Old and New Testament. He views these stories as epics written by poets. With the help of numerous quotations from the Bible and from elsewhere he convinces us that we are dominated by the Osiris Saga, Oedipus Tale, Electra complex and the Adam and Eve story. Whether these are called archetypes or expressed in some other terminology is irrelevant. "The Springs of Creativity" remains the incest to which Freud led the way, and in my opinion Jung is nothing else but Freud plus mystery. Freud discovered the unconscious and Infantile Sexuality and so offered the means to explain Art. The incestuous desires are the driving forces in all Art and Literature, whether ancient or contemporary. This is well displayed in the case of "Joan" that is introduced by Sir Herbert Read. "Joan" is schizophrenic. The best technique for her as an artist is to use the primordial material to develop her images (which Sir Herbert Read preferred to call Icons rather than Symbols). With these means she is kept in contact with the external world which prevents her from capitulating completely to the unconscious. The distortions, disfigurements and ugliness of her drawings are reflections of herself in dissatisfied narcissism evolved from the parental complex. With the help of the psychotherapist, Joan was able to realise what the external world could offer besides frustration and made to use her phantasies to strengthen her personality. To turn a schizophrenic into a schizoid personality is the best result one can expect especially in an artist who had to retain some unhappiness to foster her imagination. Schizophrenic ideas are paramount for maintaining and developing

The Richness of Inner Experience: Relating Styles of Daydreaming to Creative Processes
Psychologists have long hypothesized that daydreaming (i.e., engaging in stimulus-independent, task-unrelated thoughts and images) may facilitate creativity, but evidence for this hypothesis has been mixed. We propose that, to fully understand the relationship between daydreaming and creativity, it is essential to distinguish between different creative processes as well as between alternative s...
متن کاملThe two faces of anxiety.
Philosophers and Poets, from their perch on the cutting edge of reason, have always seen the advantage of anxiety. It is the “dizziness of reason,” argued Soren Kierkegaard; “the handmaiden of creativity,” said T.S. Eliot; “the beginning of conscience,” observed novelist Angela Carter. So have actors backstage, summoning eternal energies and edges for the roles they play, and sprinters on the b...

and Creative Modeling Modeling is not simply a process of response mimicry as commonly believed. Modeled judgments and actions may differ in specific content but embody the same rule. For example, a model may deal with moral dilemmas that differ widely in the nature of the activity but apply the same moral standard to them. Modeled activities thus convey rules for generative and innovative beha...

In northern Iran, the karst springs locate in the central Alborz highlands and alluvial springs on the Caspian southern coasts. The Karst and alluvial springs discharge is variable because of different conditions in terms of aquifer, topography and precipitation .This study ha...
متن کاملHYDROCHEMISTRY OF KARST SPRINGS FROM TWO CARBONATIC UNITS IN ZAGROSIDES OF IRAN
One hundred and nineteen karst springs, all with electrical conductivity of less than 500 gmhosfcm, discharging two carbonatic aquifers in Zagrosides of Iran are chosen and studied. The results indicate that the lithology of each unit is well reflected in the chemistry of the springs and the overall mineralogical composition of the aquifer can successfully be reconstructed from the hydroche...
